Celebrate Women’s History Month by supporting a female-run startup looking to empower dancers of all body types

Sharing the Barre breaks the trend of designing for an “ideal” dancer, and instead creates dancewear that fits all body types through our innovative, versatile designs.

During Women’s History Month you can show your support for Sharing the Barre. Starting on March 9 and running through March 23, you can donate to our IFundWomen campaign by visiting https://ifundwomen.com/projects/sharing-barre. Whether you are able to contribute $5 or $500, we can guarantee you will be directly impacting our company.

Because IFundWomen is a reward crowdfunding platform, meaning you receive a reward rather than equity for your investment, Sharing the Barre is offering a slew of offers and rewards to our donors. Rewards range from t-shirts and Instagram mentions, to being the first to wear our newly designed leotards.

Are you a studio owner? By donating to Sharing the Barre, you could qualify to be one of the first dance studios to have a Sharing the Barre inventory available for consignment for an entire year, at no charge.

With your support we will be able to finish developing our product and produce our very first line of leotards. Additionally, we are hoping to make adjustments to our patterns so that we can offer children’s sizes as part of our collection in the future — and you can help us get there.

Sharing the Barre founder, Abigail Sakati, struggled to find dancewear that fit a 4 ’11 “ dancer. She would sew or pin her straps back, or just deal with an uncomfortable leotard. Because of this, she struggled to feel confident in her dance abilities. It wasn’t until after she was hired by a professional entertainment company that she felt assured in who she was as a dancer. Abigail’s mission is to ensure no other dancer feels as though they are not good enough to succeed.
